Game Boy Micro

It's even mini'er than I imagined

It's even mini'er than I imagined

After visiting with the Turbine folks on Sunday, we wandered over to the Nintendo booth to check those peeps. We found a guy wearing a Nintendo shirt and looking fairly exhausted and asked him if they had any Micros we could see. The guy paused for a second as if he was processing what we had asked him. Then, without warning, he exploded like a giant pinata filled with confetti.

Actually, he just reached into his pocket without really saying anything and handed us a tiny silver item that would still qualify as a small cell phone these days. I have to say that I was pretty enamored with the device, which had Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga plugged into it. I own a flame colored SP and I like it. I like how small it is (or used to seem) and the great little time killing games Nintendo puts out for it. But for some reason, I was immediately envious of this even tinier version of the same thing.

The screen on the Micro is smaller than that of the SP, but since it maintains the same resolution, it is sharper and almost seems clearer. The shape of the thing really just melts into your hands and it is incredibly lightweight. I forgot to ask about battery life but if it is even half of what my SP gets, I’d be completely satisfied.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that I need someone to buy my SP from me (it’s less than a year old!) so that I can justify going out and buying one of these when they come out.

Also, Mario Superstar Baseball (released yesterday) looked like quite a bit of fun, as did their upcoming Mario Soccer title. I think this is it but I’m not positive.
